Sushi if you like sushi and we sure do finding a great sushi place while traveling can be a challenge. This one hits all the marks. Umami in West Melbourne. Yes, it’s necessary to cross the bridge, but the food and service are worth the trip.

Water views and great food! Add in several outdoor dining options and a fun atmosphere and you’ve found The Lazy Turtle. Two riverfront outdoor patios, Tiki Bar, and two indoor dining rooms offer something for everyone. The night we dined we enjoyed live music and a spectacular moonrise. The entrees were generous, the fish fresh and the drinks tasty.

Full disclosure. We have a personal connection with the restaurant we’re sharing. Our son, Carson has been honing his chef skills for most of his adult life and worked in a variety of restaurants on the West Coast of FL and the Melbourne Beach area. The Brassie Grille is located in the Aquarina Community about 5 miles south of the cottage so it’s rapidly become the go-to place for lunch or dinner. The menu is varied, and consistently delivers a great burger, fresh fish, and delicious salads. For an exceptional experience make a reservation for Saturday evening. Each weekend a tasting menu will be presented with wine and cocktail pairings. The menu is focused on fresh seasonal foods, fresh local caught fish and seafood, and grass-fed beef.
